Did you know that YouTube has many films to watch for free as well as the option to buy and rent? The films are supported by ads.

The quality and how well known the films are varies and I thought I would take a look as it is easy to ignore this content. As a YouTube Premium Lite user (or if a full premium user), you also get to watch the films ad-free.

On the YouTube app, access the Movies & TV section. Look out for the menu option Free and then browse. I understand that the line-up regularly changes, but here are a few of the more well-known films and genres ranged from comedy, action and adventure, drama, sci-fi, horror, thriller, animation, and more:

World War Z

The Cannonball Run

Throw Momma From The Train

Around The World In 80 Days

Wargames (1983)

The Truman Show

Poltergeist 2 and 3

Ghoulies

The Blair Witch Project

Gnome o & Juliet

Pinocchio

Thomas and The Magic Railroad

9/11

Getting Even With Dad

Zoo Keeper

The Pink Panther

Teen Wolf

How to Lose A Guy In 10 Days

The Break Up

Bad Grampa

While not possibly the most amazing list of films ever, the films listed were mainly 1080p quality TV masters that I found. And many more films are listed than just the examples that I have listed. The quality of the stream was generally good, but you won’t find any 4K for free. I did experience some sound and picture dips (as compressed) but okay for TV viewing.

Do check it out as it is ideal for film buffs. You never know what gems that you may find. And of course, there are other sections with films to rent and buy if you also wish.

Pa. A few other channels also exist with films on YouTube.. Take a look at ITV Retro for some older British films and TV. It includes quite a few Carry On’s if that’s your thing.
